Introducing Source Influence

Source Influence lines up each part of an AI answer with the paragraphs on its cited pages that correspond to it, with a short explanation for every match.

What you get

• links: each matching paragraph from a cited page, tied to the exact parts of the answer it corresponds to, with a one-sentence explanation.
• sources: for every citation, the page’s paragraphs that appear in the result, and an error note for a page that was unreadable.
• insights: short summaries of what the matches add up to, each built from the links it names.

How it works

Send the answer and the URLs it cited. Source Influence reads every page, compares its paragraphs with the answer and returns each match as character ranges in your answer, so you can highlight a passage and show the source paragraph beside it.

One analysis covers up to 100 citations and an answer of up to 200,000 characters. Pages you already have can go in citations[].body, and we fetch the rest.

Request fields

answerstringRequired

The AI answer to analyze, as Markdown, up to 200,000 characters. Every range in the result points into this text.

citationsarrayRequired

The pages the answer cites, 1 to 100. Each has a url and an optional body with the page text.

countrystring

Country the cited pages are read from. Default US.

webhook.urlstring

An HTTPS address on your server. The finished task is posted there the moment it completes.

idempotencyKeystring

Your own ID for the request. Each key creates one task per account, so a retried send stays a single task.

Credits charged for the finished task. A failed task charges 0.

The answer you sent, unchanged. Ranges are UTF-16 offsets into this exact text.

One entry per cited page, with its url and the paragraphs in the result, each with an id and text.

Each link pairs one paragraph with the answerRanges it matches and a one-sentence explanation.

Short summaries of what the links add up to, each naming the links behind it in linkIds.

Receive the result

The request returns the task right away with status QUEUED. Poll GET /v1/async/task/{id} until status is COMPLETED or FAILED, or add webhook.url and the finished task arrives at your server with the same task, credits and response. Results stay available for 24 hours after a task finishes.

Pricing

Source Influence is priced by the size of each analysis. Credits are held when the task starts and settled when it finishes, so you pay for the analysis you ran.
