Monitors fill in your competitor list

Monitors
A monitor card with a 64% mention rate, rates per engine and share of voice against competitors

Monitors now find your competitors in their own answers and add them to your rankings.

What you get

  • Competitors found for you: after the first run, the monitor adds up to 15 brands that sell what you sell and appear in at least two of its answers.
  • One yardstick for every brand: found brands and the ones you add are counted over the same answers.
  • A list that stays current: the monitor reads its answers again every week.

How it works

The brands AI recommends next to yours are often a surprise: a newcomer, a retailer’s own label or a brand from another market. Once the first run is in, the monitor reads its answers, keeps the brands that sell what you sell and appear in at least two answers, and adds up to 15 of them to your rankings.

The read repeats every week, so the list follows the market. A found brand leaves the list after two reads in a row that miss it, so one unusual week leaves your report steady. Found brands carry source set to auto, and the brands you add carry user and stay exactly as you set them.

Whenever the list changes, the monitor recounts its stored answers, so every brand in the report is measured over the same answers. competitorsReadAt shows when the last read ran, and Settings lists found competitors next to yours.

Where it helps

  • Discover the competitors AI puts next to you, newcomers included.
  • Start tracking a new market on day one and let the monitor find its brands.
  • Keep share of voice comparable as the market shifts week to week.

Get started

  1. Create a brand or category monitor, or open one you already run.
  2. After the first run, open Settings. Competitors found in your answers lists the brands the weekly read added, next to the ones you entered.
  3. Add any other brand to your own list. The monitor recounts its stored answers, so the new brand is measured over the same answers as the rest.
  4. Open the report to compare every brand on mention rate and share of voice.

Through the API, GET /v1/monitors/{id} returns the list in competitors. The brands below come from the public running shoes report:
