Track a whole market with category monitors

Monitors
A category report ranking laptop brands by the share of answers that name them

Category monitors rank the brands AI engines name across a market, with share of voice and daily trends.

What you get

  • A ranking of every tracked brand the answers name, with its rank, mention rate, share of voice and change against the previous interval.
  • The three brands named most in each sub-field and on each engine, so you see where every brand is strong.
  • Daily rates for the five leading brands, and a cell per prompt and engine that opens the answer behind it.

How it works

A brand monitor follows one brand. A category monitor follows a market: you name the category, group its prompts by sub-field, and every run asks your engines those prompts and records which brands each answer names. Set mode to CATEGORY when you create it; the type stays fixed for the life of the monitor.

  • category: the market as a buyer names it, 1 to 80 characters.
  • promptTopics: maps each prompt to its sub-field, with up to 30 sub-fields of at most 60 characters. Prompts outside the map cover the whole category.
  • competitors: up to 25 brands you list. After the first run, a weekly read of the answers adds up to 25 more brands they name.

GET /v1/monitors/{id}/analytics returns the report. In category.brands, share of voice is 100 × a brand’s mentions ÷ all tracked mentions, so the shares in one window add up to 100. A brand’s rate divides by its own sampleSize, the answers scored while it was on the list, so a brand you add today is measured from today.

Where it helps

  • Find out which brands lead your market in AI answers, and by how much.
  • See which sub-fields and engines each competitor owns.
  • Report category share of voice to clients or leadership every week.

Get started

In the dashboard, create a monitor and pick Category as the monitor type. Enter a topic and select Run research: Prompt Research fills in the prompts, their sub-fields and the brands to rank from search demand in KR or US, and you review everything before the monitor is created.

Pricing

A run costs the same as a brand monitor run: one task per prompt per engine, at each engine’s credit price. Finding the market’s brands adds 100 credits a month, split across runs, and the research that fills the form costs 12 credits.
